The Capitals of Malta – Valletta and Mdina
- from 1 to 3 persons - 260 Euro
- from 4 to 10 people - 380 Euro
- 11 or more - upon request
During this excursion we will be visiting two capitals of Malta – the medieval city of Mdina and more modern Valletta.
We will start our tour in Mdina, which was the capital of the island from the prehistoric times. Malta was ruled by many - Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs, Normans, Spaniards and all of them left their marks in Mdina. Today Mdina is a charming mix of different eras and styles with narrow streets and medieval piazzas, palaces of Maltese nobility and small chapels, bastions and the majestic Cathedral of St.Paul.
Valletta is a completely different experience – everything here is grand and monumental, because the city was laid in 1566 as a show-piece of the power of the Knights of St.John. You will see beautiful palaces and auberges, admire the Grand Harbour view from Upper Barrakka Gardens and visit St.John's Co-Cathedral and Grand Master's Palace (entrance fees are extra).
